Legendary Actor Christopher Lee dead at 93

Christopher Lee, the commanding and statuesque star of stage and screen tragically passed away on Sunday, June 7th after being admitted to Westminster Hospital in London for respiratory problems and heart failure.

I for one, can barely believe that he is gone.

Lee will always¬†be remembered as Hammer Studios iconic Dracula and original Frankenstein monster, as well as for his portrayal of The Man with the Golden Gun, the cult leader Lord Summersisle in The Wicker Man, Sherlock Holmes and of course most recently the villain Saruman in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy.

My personal favorite in Sir Christopher’s lengthy catalogue of films is 1960’s Horror Hotel (The City of the Dead), because it gave me my first glimpse of Lee in action and kicked off my near obsessive love of the charismatic legend. And as it turns out there was so very much to love about this great actor…and former secret agent.

Take a look at one of my favorite Lee memes and join me in saying goodbye to the irreplaceable Christopher Lee.
